She has 3 dogs who had just been to the dog groomers. I asked how much she paid for their "beauty treatment" and she said it cost her quite a sum. This lady was in need of an overhaul herself btw.
The first thing that came to my mind is how welfare dollars are spent on the needs of others. Was I wrong to think this way?

No. It is true that some people spend welfare the wrong way… but not all. I have been on welfare and it doesn’t pay for everything… I mean it will help me get diapers and food and pay for part of my bills.
The thing is tho, I was on Families first, it is "child support" for single parents. I can’t sue my daughter’s dad for child support because he has a disability check. When I am on families first I have to either work full time or I have to do community service. It sounds great doesn’t it?
Here is the catch: they tell me "our job is to help you to come out of poverty and be able to stand on your own feet without help"
That is great and all… but you know they won’t count me going to school as a job? That means, if I want to better myself for the long run I have to go to work 40 hours a week and go to school as well at the same time. That is incredibly hard with a child. They want me to be able to stand on my feet but how am I supposed to work 40 hours a week, go to school full time as well, do homework, and be a single parent?
Welfare is great but it isn’t all that it is cracked up to be. They make it extremely hard to get benefits. That is why many people lie to get them.
But no, I would be thinking the same thing as you. Welfare isn’t meant for dogs, it is meant for people and their children. Many people don’t spend it right, and many people ruin it for the rest of us who actually want to better ourselves. I do, however, think them not accepting full time students as the same as full time job workers the same is ridiculous. School will give me the chance to make a better paycheck and do more with my life, while just settling for any job in order to keep my families first benefits will eventually get me back to going on welfare in the future….
No. I probably would have thought the same thing. Also, the people who get assistance but always have their nails done and wear a lot of jewelry.
well i have never been on welfare but i do find it funny how people watch how they spend there money.food stamps are paid for there food and welfare is paid for there personal reasons and from what i hear welfare is not alot at all it is less than 400 dollars month.
This woman is obviously frauding the system. She must have "under the table" schemes going on. Not all welfare recipients pull this stuff, but people like this ruin it for the rest.
Not in my opinion. I had a friend several years ago (not friends anymore) collecting welfare. She wasn’t even putting any effort into finding a decent, stable job. Her motto always was "Why pay for something when you can get it for free?" The sad thing is (the thing that turns me off about welfare) is the fact that the system doesn’t monitor their spendings. The aforementioned person used to go out and party EVERY night. She would waste all her money from welfare on alcohol and food for herself!!! Then when her baby needed something she would borrow money with no intentions of paying it back. Give me a f’n break.
