HOW do beauty products get tested on animals?

by admin on August 7, 2011

I’m doing an english talk on Testing Cosmetics on animals, and so far I’ve researched Why it happens, Treatment of animals, some experiments (LD50 and Rabbit’s Eyes).

Could anybody please inform me on how hair dye, lipstick, make-up in general and hair products are tested on animals? Visual aids would be appreciated too.

Here is a website with testing information.

Here’s another one.

Both websites offer graphic information on how the tests are performed.

Not sure how graphic you want your visual aids to be, but the photos, etc. can be rather gruesome.

Site with photos of test subjects and testing:

On this one, go about halfway down and it discusses make up testing and has some photos.

This blog has photos of make up testing as well as info on all kinds of testing.

Testing on animals for make up and such is really a horrible and inhumane thing that should be stopped.
